Our Story

Rivertown Metals is a thoughtfully crafted jewelry line specializing in creating beautiful, bold, contemporary pieces. Rivertown Metals is the work of Ruth Partridge, resident of ‘river town’, Asheville, North Carolina of the awe-inspiring Appalachian mountains. Each piece is hand-made using traditional metalsmithing techniques and rendered from silver, brass, or bronze, as well as unique, semi-precious stones.

In early 2020, Ruth Partridge brought into the world, her magical son, Casper, and became a full-time mama to her new baby and incredible step-daughter, Luna. Though she loved her beautiful babes, Ruth became overwhelmed with the challenges of caring for a new born and a pre-teen during these unprecedented times, and like many before her, she began to experience a bit of an identity crisis. And so, with the support of her amazing partner, she began to search for a creative outlet that she could dedicate herself to from home and which would, hopefully, spice up her routine.

Well, inspired by a lifelong appreciation of jewelry design and adornment; it did not take too long for her to land on metalsmithing. Ruth and her partner, Landon, built a small studio in their basement. In the months and years that followed, Ruth carefully carved out time between the virtual learning lessons with her daughter, the endless hours spent trying to convince the baby to sleep, and everything else: to sneak away to her little basement sanctuary and make some jewelry. The experience brought to her life something truly special.

Each and every piece is made with intention, love, and endless appreciation. Rivertown Metals draws inspiration from geometry, the natural world, sculpture, color, balance, as well as the relationship between positive and negative space. Ruth hopes that her adornments bring the wearer joy and assist each person in manifesting a life filled with beauty, confidence, magic, and love.
